What is AmazonSmile?

AmazonSmile is a website operated by Amazon. It features the same products at the same prices as the standard Amazon site. The only difference is, when you shop on AmazonSmile, the AmazonSmile Foundation will donate 0.5% of the cost of all eligible products to your chosen charity.

There are millions of eligible products available. Look out for ‘Eligible for smile.amazon.co.uk’ on the product’s details page.

How do I sign up to AmazonSmile?

Visit the AmazonSmile website to get started. 

If you’ve already got an Amazon account, simply log in to your account and search Help for Heroes in the ‘pick your own charity’ search bar on the right-hand side of the screen. Click to accept us as your chosen charity and you’re ready to start shopping.

How do get to AmazonSmile?

To shop at AmazonSmile, simply visit the AmazonSmile website to on your computer, phone or tablet.

Are prices higher on AmazonSmile?

Absolutely not! You’ll be able to shop the same products, at the same prices. It doesn’t cost you a penny more.

How much does AmazonSmile donate?

When you buy eligible products through AmazonSmile, Amazon will donate 0.5% of the cost to your chosen charity. The cost refers to the purchase price, so excludes VAT, returns and shipping fees, as well as gift wrapping fees, service charges and any rebates.

How to use AmazonSmile on the Amazon app

If you want to donate to Help for Heroes when you shop, it’s important that you always shop through the AmazonSmile website, rather than the main Amazon site.

If you use the Amazon app, there are two ways to shop using AmazonSmile.

Enabling Amazon Smile

1. Ensure you have the latest version of the Amazon app installed
2. Open the Amazon app and click on Settings in the main menu
3. Click on the AmazonSmile link
4. Follow the on-screen instructions.

Or there is this method below that can be used each time you make a purchase

1. Shop on the Amazon app, and add your chosen items to your basket, just as you normally would do
2. Before you head to the checkout, switch to smile.amazon.co.uk on your mobile browser to finish and pay. You’ll be able to access all your goods in your basket.

If you’re using an Apple phone or tablet, follow the steps below

1. Visit amazon.smile.co.uk in your Safari browser
2. Click share, scroll along and choose the ‘add to Home Screen’ option
3. Click ‘add’ and then delete your Amazon app.

Can I use my existing Amazon account?

Yes! If you’ve already got an Amazon account, you can use the same account on AmazonSmile. Your login details and all of your settings will stay the same, so you’ll be able to access your shopping cart, wish lists and more, just as you would do through the Amazon website.
