Whether you play games on your mobile, PS5, in-person or take on epic challenges and stream, Hero Up couldn't be simpler. 

There are three things to remember. Any game. Any time. Anywhere.

  1. Sign up. Once you sign up, decide on your gaming challenge using your personalised fundraising page.
  2. Spread the word. Share you challenge on social media and ask your friends, family and followers to sponsor... or join you!
  3. Download. Use our free fundraising tools, including posters, personalised frames and badges, to help you smash your target.
  4. Live stream. If you're doing a charity stream, on your chosen date start your gaming session and live stream the action using your preferred platform like Twitch or YouTube. You can also post regular updates on your social media channels and watch donations from your awesome supporters roll in.

We want your fundraising experience to be as good as your game play and will work closely with you throughout, sharing ideas, helpful tips and advice straight to your inbox.

      • Absolutely! You can choose one member of the team to register the team’s name to get started, or alternatively ask all your teammates to register individually.

      • Hero Up is only open to participants aged 18 and over. 

        Help for Heroes takes the safety and wellbeing of children seriously. If you are 16-18 years of age and would like to fundraise for our wounded, check out our other fundraising ideas or alternatively contact our Supporter Care Team on 0300 303 9888 to discuss your plans.

      • Once you’ve signed up, we’ll keep in touch by email with tips and ideas to help you get started. We’ve also got lots of downloadable tools to help you spread the word about your challenge.         And don’t worry if you have contacts who aren’t online. Use our fundraising tools and sponsorship form, and add the money to your page yourself, or send a cheque and the completed form to the address below. Don’t forget to state your unique Registration ID, so we know it’s from you.

      • Select sign up and complete the registration form which will just take a few minutes, then you can decide on a date, start personalising your fundraising page and planning your challenge! You can take part at any time that suits you. Hero Up is hosted on the GivePenny website, so you’ll be redirected to their site to set up your fundraising page.

      • You can play any game that you enjoy, with the console of your choice. Maybe you want to sharpen your skills on a tried and tested favourite, or there’s a new game you’ve got your eye on. You could even keep it old-school and have a boardgame session instead. If you’re planning a longer challenge, why not mix it up with a few different games and set up tournaments or speedruns?

      • You can embed Twitch and Youtube streams directly on your GivePenny fundraising page, which means all your friends and family can see what you’re up to on the day of the Hero Up challenge. If you use another streaming platform, you’ll still be able to use the GivePenny tools.
